Caveats and Definitions
Since January 1992, most MET buses have been equipped with an elevator
(lift or ramp) to assist persons using wheelchairs or walkers, etc., to
board and ride the regular fixed-route MET buses. The continuing
significant increases in use of lifts and ramps is probably a result of
increasing awareness of that feature's availability, as well as possibly
an increasing population that uses such mobility aids, and/or that more
of that population segment is choosing or able to participate in
community life.
